    There was some text at the start, mostly about nutrition. It was generally common sense though there were a few things that I might not agree with. Also he effectively does talk about diet which seems to contradict the title somewhat.

    There is a bit of advertising going on for his other books. He did seem to overhype bodyweight exercise and made quite a few claims about weightlifting that were not supported by the evidence.

    What makes this book worthwhile were all the exercise techniques and photos that were provided. They are very good and I have used many of them so far without any injury.

    As this was on promo I decided to download it and see what it was like. I don’t do diets, and I have exercised quite extensively in the past, running, martial arts and lifting weights, body weight exercises, etc. I thought that this was really going to be a thinly disguised fad diet, as if there isn’t enough. I was very pleased that this wasn’t the case but instead ultimately an essay on common sense. It always amazes me how many people always fall for the latest fad diet because some Hollywood star does it, even though they aren’t stupid and already know the principles outlined in this book. There is even a workout section in this of basic no equipment exercises that you can easily do in your own home, with photos showing you how to do them correctly.

    I haven’t given this five stars because really everyone should already know about healthy eating plans, indeed I know all the exercises, but I appreciate that not everyone does. There are a few minor quiblles I have with the text but these are only where I thought perhaps an extra sentence or so would get the author’s point across more forcefully. My ultimate problem with this book though is that it is really trying to sell you other exercise books from the site owned by the author, which you can also get on here, and it goes on about not having to do weight training displaying the exercises with people who have obviously been working out down the gym. This second point is quite important as I have seen time and time again people getting frustrated with their progress. Bodybuilding magazines and such like do it with exercise programs giving people a belief that they can look like the model used, not revealing the obvious, that these models have been exercising for years, they could have a much better bodyshape than you anyway, they could be on steroids, etc. I would much rather have seen pictures of normal people who had been doing the exercises.

    First off, I have to say I took this book because it was free and I was testing out my new kindle. Being one of those ‘always on a diet’ people it caught my eye.

    It’s a brief, concise read that doesn’t contain any shocking or revolutionary ideas with regards to nutrition but does perhaps make you think about your lifestyle in a slightly different way. The concepts are only briefly explored however, with lot’s of referrals to the author’s other works/ website. It does feel like reading a very long advert at times!

    But the advice within is sound, if not terribly remarkable and there are some good instructions as to the proper execution of lots of exercise moves.

    Worth a look, but don’t expect any lifestyle epiphanies!
